Dental Care For
Your Pets

According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 85% of dogs and cats over four years of age have some degree of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease results from plaque buildup, which in turn allows bacteria to live on the surface of the teeth, usually along the gum line. Periodontal disease leads to inflammation of the gum tissue and infection of the bone, allowing bacteria into the blood stream where they can cause kidney, heart, liver, brain, and lung disease.

At Nash County Animal Hospital, our goal is to prevent periodontal disease through home dental care and regular dental checkups and treat it aggressively with high quality veterinary dentistry. Our dental services include ultrasonic scaling for the cleaning and polishing portion as well as dental extractions and minor oral surgery

We want your pet to live a long, healthy life, and we understand that maintaining a healthy mouth is part of that.
